The Rolodex
Every three to four months I re-introduce the Rolodex. It’s one of the benefits of a paid membership here at Studio Sundays.
It’s a spreadsheet I started years ago, and have committed to updating it with resources for making art. Within the spreadsheet are sheets organized into the following categories:

It started as just me recording services or stores that I used or heard about. Now, readers send me listings and I add them to the sheet. It’s becoming a vibrant community resource. It’s just one way I’ve committed to combat gatekeeping in the industry. When I first wanted to have some large paintings professionally scanned, no one wanted to tell me where they got it done?! I think that’s totally bonkers to hold that kind of secret. So I’m here to tell you all of my “secret” sources and would love to hear yours in return.

RESIDENCY Women's Studio Workshop - one of very few residencies that has a parent specific residency grant (aka they give you money to pay for childcare while you are there). They also have other programs and a very special artist book residency program as well. In upstate New York.
SERVICES SUAY - a community dye bath. Send your textiles here and they will add them to their dye bath and send them back to you! (submitted by reader Nicole!)
