What is Studio Sundays?

Studio Sundays is a record of my research on creative professionals and a log of my own circuitous practice I believe in tearing down the barriers between you and the creative career you want and aim to be transparent in my challenges.

Studio Sundays is for you if:

  • You are a working artist looking interested in the careers of another artist

  • You are an amateur or hobbyist looking for resources and honest reflections

  • You are curious about my own trajectory as it unfolds

Why subscribe to Studio Sundays?

By joining this newsletter you will receive weekly emails:

  • I publish a newsletter every Sunday they range in subject matter from current projects to recipes, mishaps and methods from my creative career. These can include videos, photo galleries of projects in progress, resource round-ups and writing about my current challenges.

  • Paid subscribers also get access to the The Rolodex - a spreadsheet with all of the suppliers, professional services, classes, museums and books that this community recommends.

Studio Sundays is a reader-supported publication. Paid subscriptions are $5 a month or $60 for the year. Add your email below for free or paid versions!

Who am I?

My name is Bekka Palmer and I’m a painter, fiber artist and writer. I have worked for the past ten years as an independent creative person. I’ve worked as an event producer, freelance photographer, basket maker and now painter and writer. I sell my current work at Closed Mondays

If we ever meet in person I will probably ask you, “how do you make it work?” I’m so curious how artists make money, continue to grow as an artist and find time to manage the business side of things. This space is a documentation of that research and a log of my own week-by-week practice.

Some examples of my visual art work, below!

Thrilled to be on Substack’s list of featured publications in January 2023.

You keep this place running. You can subscribe for free or receive extra benefits for $5 a month or $60 per year.
